#oneHWS - initial video created to initiate dialogue about the coordinate college system at HWS

Mosaic NY believes that the coordinate system is a social injustice, standing in the way of the Colleges achieving its desired goal of inclusive excellence by denying full rights to trans and gender non-binary/nonconforming students. We created this video to begin a conversation about the real, lived experiences of students under the coordinate system and to generate public pressure on the Colleges to reconsider their commitment to it. This project is in its early stages, and we hope that many members of the HWS community will add their own voices and video to the conversation.

Coxe 7 - a video meant for faculty

Students in Mosaic NY regularly report feeling silenced and marginalized in the classroom and express the desire to talk directly to their faculty about their experiences in the hopes of effecting change. Because students lack the ability to have this conversation en masse, we decided to make a video about some of their greatest frustrations with the educational process. The video was then distributed to all faculty via e-mail, which generated further dialogue about ways to address textbook costs and to facilitate engagement with difficult topics in the classroom.

Hobart and William Smith Colleges students in Mosaic NY offer the chance to look inside the classroom from their perspectives.
